Employees Lend a Hand in the Neighborhood on NORMA Help Day

Maintal, Germany, June 22, 2017 – NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, is celebrating its international NORMA Help Day at locations in 26 countries worldwide. During the week from June 19 to 23, 2017, employees are volunteering for a day at various organizations near their workplaces. On June 21, 2017, around 45 employees from the plant in Maintal and the distribution center in Marsberg got involved as well – building a terrace downtown and painting and gardening at a bird sanctuary, for example.

“NORMA Help Day has established itself as an integral part of the year for us and many of our contacts in the communities. A lot of our employees look forward to the opportunity to lend a hand in the neighborhood,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “Besides NORMA Help Day, our sites around the world encourage our employees to volunteer, with time off work for instance.”

NORMA Group employees in Maintal painted the walls in the integrative Friedrich Fröbel School, built a terrace for downtown Bischofsheim, moved furniture in the Maintal family center, covered an enclosure for a wildlife organization and installed a water pump on the grounds of a kindergarten. Maintal Mayor Monika Böttcher acknowledged the volunteers’ work during a visit to Bischofsheim: “It’s nice to see that NORMA Group employees are actively shaping our city’s development. It shows they feel connected to Maintal. I am particularly impressed by what the employees achieve in just one day.” At the Marsberg site in North Rhine-Westphalia, employees painted and gardened at the Essentho bird sanctuary.

NORMA Help Day started in 2014 with 35 employees at the Maintal site and has taken place internationally at all locations since 2015.
