NORMA Group AG ("NORMA Group"), a global market and technology leader in engineered joining technology, is building a new production facility in Talegaon near Pune, India. In India, the company is represented since 2009. With the new plant, NORMA Group is enhancing its production capacity to keep pace with the increased demand of the Indian market for connectors and joining elements. Production is expected to start in August 2012.
Due to tighter emission standards for the automotive industry and other sectors, the demand for NORMA Group´s engineered joining technology is growing consistently. These standards also apply increasingly to the Indian market, which offers considerable growth potential. The new 4,500 m² plant will increase NORMA Group's production capacity fivefold.
As part of its growth strategy for the Indian market, the company is also expanding its distribution network. As yet, wholesalers, suppliers of spare parts to OEMs and hardware stores in eight states have had access to NORMA Group's products. Since December 2011, NORMA Group has being consistently adding to its local distribution team in order to meet client demand from further states going forward. With more than 30 distributors, the major industrial regions are already covered today.
“India's dynamic market offers us huge growth opportunities we want to exploit consistently with the new plant in order to further strengthen our market position. Our stronger local presence brings us closer to our clients in India and gives us the opportunity to serve them according to their individual needs,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group.
