NORMA Group SE ("NORMA Group"), a global market and technology leader for engineered joining technology, has obtained a large order from an Italian manufacturer of passenger cars and commercial vehicles for innovative NORMAFLEX fluid pipes. The fluid pipes will be manufactured in the company’s plant in Subotica in Serbia from 2015. NORMA Group will equip about 75,000 commercial vehicles annually until 2019.
The order involves the development and production of heated thermoplastic pipes for the transport of Urea fluid from the Urea supply module to the dosing module of the Urea system. Urea is used in the "Selective Catalytic Reduction" (SCR) technology. It is injected into the exhaust system in order to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Stricter emission regulation and exhaust treatment standards raise the need for OEMs to turn to innovative solutions, such as SCR products in order to comply with the standards.
"We see a rising demand for our Urea fluid lines in Europe due to the Euro 6 emission standard. This recent order is proof of that and of the quality of our fluid products, which help our clients to meet statutory regulations," says Bernd Kleinhens, board member Business Development at NORMA Group.
