NORMA Group AG expands into Asia

NORMA Group, an international market and technology leader for engineered joining technology, expands its global footprint and officially opened its new facility in Thailand on 30 May, 2011. The new facility is based in Chongburi, Thailand which is 80 km from the capital Bangkok. The key activity in the facility will be the production of fluid systems to support NORMA Group’s customers in Thailand and the surrounding region.
“The opening of this facility is another step in developing our presence and capability in the Asian region”, says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “With the local manufacturing we support NORMA Group’s growth within the region, positioning us geographically where our existing and future customers are present.”
The opening represents the culmination of 18 months of planning and execution to get the facility operational. NORMA is now shipping to customers around the region including Australia.
“This manufacturing will help us to develop relationships and business with Japanese and Western customers who have transplanted production into this region”, says John Stephenson, COO of NORMA Group and President Asia Pacific. “It is also ideally placed to act as a hub to develop our distribution business both in Thailand and in the neighbouring countries of Malaysia and Vietnam.”
