Stepping stone to professional life: NORMA Germany welcomes trainees
Maintal, Germany, 03 September 2012
NORMA Germany GmbH (“NORMA Germany“), a subsidiary of NORMA Group AG, is welcoming seven young trainees who will start their apprenticeship at the Maintal facility. Over the next three years, the young women and men will learn administrative or technical jobs. NORMA Germany currently employs an overall 45 trainees across Germany, nine of whom are enrolled in combined on-the-job and university programs that will earn them a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration or a Bachelor of Engineering.
Apprenticeship at NORMA Germany is diverse and essential for the company's future growth. “Fully qualified employees are critical for ongoing corporate success. We need well-trained professionals in order to continue growing successfully,“ says Harald Koch, head of HR at NORMA Germany. “We are very pleased to see young women and men opt for our company as the stepping stone to their professional career. It sets us apart as an employer of choice.“
NORMA Germany secures young talent in eight apprenticed trades. Those interested in commercial aspects can train to become industrial administrators. Apprenticed technical jobs include that of a machine and systems operator, industrial mechanic, electronics technician, process technician and warehouse logistician. In addition, trainees may enrol in combined on-the-job and university programs at the Berufsakademie Frankfurt/Offenbach or the TU Darmstadt. Students can earn a Bachelor of Engineering in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or electronics or a Bachelor of Arts in business administration.
As a globally operating company, NORMA Group also offers junior staff the opportunity to train at NORMA Group companies abroad which will help them enhance their intercultural skills and introduce them early to working in international teams. Field trips, English language courses and support in preparing for exams are integral parts of NORMA Germany's training program.
