Maintal, Germany, 24 April 2015
“NORMA Group has been actively involved in the areas of education and youth development in the Main-Kinzig district for several years,” says Gerhard Wulz, CEO of NORMA Germany. “This is why we are participating in this year’s Girls’ Day once again. We are pleased to introduce the girls to technical professions early on, and, of course, also hope that we can convince them of our company as a potential employer.”
After taking a tour of the plant, the young participants, including a girl who participated together with her supervisor as part of inclusion, received an introduction to the various professional training programs. In the training workshop, they were able to machine their own work piece, a miniature railway engine, and discover their interest in technical activities.
Erhard Rohrbach, the Mayor of Maintal, says: “For companies, Girls' Day offers an ideal opportunity to position themselves as active training organisations and possibly even meet future employees because these girls could well become the professionals and managers that many companies are desperately looking for.”
Training opportunities at NORMA Group are quite diverse. Young adults can be trained on technical professions such as mechatronics, electricians, machine and plant operators, industrial, process or tool mechanics and warehouse logisticians. In addition to apprenticeships to become an industrial clerk, dual study programs can be taken at the University of Cooperative Education in Frankfurt/Main and the Technical University of Middle Hesse to earn a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering or a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration.
