NORMA Group celebrates Diversity Day in 27 countries worldwide

Maintal, Germany, 9 June 2015
NORMA Group, a global market leader in engineered joining technology, today celebrates its group-wide NORMA Diversity Day under the motto “Networking across borders”. Employees at all production facilities and distribution sites in 27 countries on four continents set an example for respect and equal opportunities in the working environment. About 6,000 employees are invited to exchange as well as discuss chances and challenges concerning diversity.

“Due to the growing complexity of international markets and business relationships, diversity increasingly becomes a competitive factor for companies. The diversity of ideas is the basis for innovation,” says Werner Deggim, CEO of NORMA Group. “In consequence to the global growth of NORMA Group, diversity is constantly on our agenda. Therefore it is important for us to create a work environment that encourages open dialogue and cooperation.”

On NORMA Diversity Day, employees from more than 40 home countries deal with diversity. Regional teams illustrate their international networking within the company on world maps and develop rules for good and successful cooperation. They present their regional sites creatively by putting together collages, and in this way give their colleagues in other countries around the world an insight into their working environment.

Regional diversity officers promote an open corporate culture of appreciation and equal opportunities across all NORMA Group sites. NORMA Diversity Day is held annually in the context of the action day of the “Charter of Diversity” (Charta der Vielfalt e.V.). The initiative campaigns for involvement of diversity in corporate culture. In 2014, NORMA Group celebrated the group-wide Diversity Day for the first time.
